Anderson Materials Evaluation is an independent materials analysis laboratory established in 1995 offering materials testing and characterization, root cause materials failure analysis, quality control, materials verification, materials problem-solving for manufacturers, and materials and process research and development services. We also consult and provide expert witness services relating to root cause materials failure analysis based on our laboratory materials analysis results.
Our materials analysis laboratory offers expert XPS surface analysis, x-ray emission spectroscopy (WD-XRF & EDS), infrared absorption spectroscopy, thermal analysis, optical and electron microscopy, UV-visible light absorption and reflectivity measurements, gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy, residual gas mass spectroscopy, corrosion analysis and electrochemistry, and mechanical testing. Our services for materials analysis range from nanomaterials through surface treatments, thin films and coatings, to bulk materials. Our materials analysis laboratory has extensive experience with metal, polymer, other organic, inorganic compound, mineral, ceramic, glass, semiconductor, and composite materials analyses performed for virtually any industry that uses materials.
Our Ph.D. materials scientists and chemists specialize in custom and innovative analyses to find the root cause of your most stubborn and complex materials problems or challenges. Our materials analysis laboratory is available to augment your existing materials analysis and R&D capabilities by performing analyses not available to many companies in-house. With intelligent planning of an analytical investigation, we efficiently maximize your understanding, while minimizing your expenses. It is our aim to explain the analysis results in a manner that helps to address your materials challenges and problems. Our analysis reports are thorough in explaining how we obtained our results, providing the results, educating you about materials and their properties, and explaining how the results address any problems you have shared information on with us. We are happy to provide our customers with non-disclosure agreements when that enables us to better address the materials challenges that you face.
Based in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. metropolitan area, our materials analysis laboratory provides independent analytical knowledge and advice for a broad spectrum of commercial applications and market sectors. Each project is managed by at least one of our Ph.D. scientists. Our materials analysis laboratory has served many of the most respected organizations in industry and academia, as well as start-up, small, and medium-sized businesses, each of whose success is critically important to us.
This website consists of over 100 pages of information on our capabilities, analytical techniques, case histories, and discussions of materials properties. A thorough exploration of this information can provide a rich materials and materials analysis education. A four page, easily printed, summary of our capabilities can be found here.
