Hydrophone microphones connect to hydraunts and listen directly to the water instead of the pipe to correlate with longer distances between microphones especially with plastic pipe.  HY200 hydrophones are excellent for tranmisson pipelines with longer distances between pipe contact points

Water Leak Correlators

1, 2, 3 Easy!

1. Place the magnetic microphones on the hydrants and plug the microphones into the transmitters which automatically turns on and automatically sets the proper sensitivity levels.

2. Enter the pipe length, size, material.

3. Select “Start”, wait about 30 – 60 seconds and correlator displays the distance from each microphone to the leak.

How water leak correlators work:
A magnetic microphone with a transmitter is attached to the pipe on each side of the leak. The water leak noises from each microphone are transmitted to a receiver that compares the difference in time from each leak sound and calculates the distance to the leak from each microphone. The water leak correlator uses the pipe size, pipe material and length to determine sound speed in the pipe and calculate the water leak position. Using the pipe diameter, pipe material and pipe length The AC 200, C 200 water leak correlators calculate the water leak position to within 2.5% of the distance between of the microphones.

Unaffected by background noises, rain, depth of pipe, soil conditions, operators hearing or skill level.
